Some of the foremost fun I had with RTSes
Evan Lahti: they're Billions
Some of the foremost fun I had with poe orbs RTSes as a child was messing around with Command & Conquer: Red Alert's map editor. i would build winding Tesla coil death mazes that my opponent had to navigate so as to achieve my spacious, well-supplied base. they're Billions revives that very same feeling of defense-focused strategy, except i am the one being tortured.
The structure of it's somewhere between StarCraft and a horde mode game like Killing Floor 2: you expand outward with pylon-like towers, hoovering up wood, minerals, and food off the map to feed your economy.
However there is not a real cheap poe orbs opponent on the map with you—you're the sole one with AN increasing base. Instead, there ar crowds of largely stagnant undead (with varied durabilities, speeds, and attack types) occupying the map, and big waves of them that attack each quarter-hour about from a random direction.
